Popular legal service categories for expats in Thailand:
Prenuptial agreement
Foreigners do not need a Thai lawyer when they marry in Thailand, they may need a lawyer to draft a prenuptial agreement or in case of a divorce, a divorce settlement agreement. A prenuptial agreement in Thailand is a private pre-marriage contract between a couple planning to marry and is recognized in the Thai Civil and Commercial Code (section 1465).
Last will and testament
A valid last will and testament in Thailand will assure that your family is protected when you die. If you die without a legal will the law determines what is to happens to your assets when you die and your wishes may not necessarily be carried out. We can assist you in drafting a Thai Will (in Thai and English) and help if a member of your family has died without making a will in Thailand, if there are difficulties with the administration of an estate, or if you have been appointed as an Executor and are experiencing problems.
Visa and Immigration matters
We do not offer visa assistance in Thailand (we can assist online). In most cases foreigners do not need a lawyer to obtain a visa and/ or followed by a 'permission to stay' (e.g. retirement visa) in Thailand, which must be applied for at the local immigration office inside Thailand. The internet (e.g. the Thai embassy in your home country) offers a helpfull source of information for visa matters in Thailand. Also visit:
